Meditation for Non-Meditators (Member-hosted event)

Let’s face it: sitting in silence for a few minutes while your kids are screaming and running around or that to-do list is creeping up on you, can often be more frustrating than helpful (or relaxing) But just like developing a new skill, you just need the right tools to begin meditating, because that's really what we're talking about here.

This Meditation for Non-Meditators will give you a handful of different styles of meditation, so you can choose what best fits your personality, your day, your mood or even what's going on in your life at that exact moment. Because Meditation, despite what you (and we) might think, can be practiced in hundreds of ways.

In this introductory workshop, we’ll go over a few of the most common types of meditation, including simple breath meditation (pranayama), visualization and Metta (loving-kindness) meditation.

So whether you’ve never meditated a day in your life or you need some inspiration and encouragement in your current meditation practice, this workshop is for you (and not the kids, or the To-Do-List).

Facilitator Bio: Brittany Nelson is a 200hr RYT (registered yoga teacher), Reiki III practitioner and freelance writer. Despite her regular study and practice of yoga, Reiki, and other healing modalities, meditation was always the toughest for her. It wasn’t until she truly discovered the importance of meditation to help her through life’s transitions, that she started to incorporate it into her daily life, sometimes multiple times a day (don't let that put you off). .
